DJB comments on “Classical Dogs” – “I’ve had this doggone article many years. When I first wrote it I sold it straight away to the classical music mag BBC. The Brit editors sent me a check, then held the ms. a year or so. Finally, they sent it back, saying they ultimately could not use it and I was free to do with it as I wished. Such is life. I decided I was probably wasting my time with music magazines. They are typically too stuffy for such fun stuff. Instead, I recently found the wonderful BARk Magazine, located in Berkeley, California. I think you’ll agree, it is a most literate and humane publication.”
