Editors’ note: Here begins a major new attraction for classical music fans! Every weekday, another Great Composer Quiz will appear for you to test your utmost knowledge, presented by the broadcaster who originated this oft-imitated educational amusement. From the mid-70s to the late-’10s, from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh to Baltimore to Washington D.C. and back to L.A., DJ daily put his radio listeners’ ears to the fire, asking them to answer some of the most intriguing and probing questions about the men and women who gave them the music of their lives.
Now, DJ asks you to have your pencils ready, if you can find one, and in the old fashioned way discover the enlightened and lively things discovered about Beethoven, Bach, Chopin and their colleagues in musical posterity.
The Great Composer Quiz appears each weekday, in audio form or written form or visual form. There will be past Quizzes and new Quizzes including some plucked from the day’s headlines.
Let us please warn you, The Great Composer Quiz is not for the novice or dabbler in classical music. Are you up to the challenge? We congratulate you in advance for knowing the correct answer.
