The Great Composer Quiz – Baseball Returns Edition
As a boy, this Great Composer developed quickly into an accomplished organist and took a post as a church organist when he was fourteen. A couple of years into his fourteen-year tenure playing the pipes for his hometown congregation, our Great Composer started to play more and more technically challenging works, until ultimately he played a dazzling set of variations he wrote based on one of his country’s patriotic tunes. After the performance, he declared playing it was “as much fun as playing baseball.” So who was this organist in cleats, this Great Composer?
