The Great Composer Quiz – July 16, 2020
Time’s up, pencils down, the Great Composer who spent a month in a prison cell for asking to make a career change. The answer is Johann Sebastian Bach. His six-year stay in Wiemar ended with a month-long stay in jail. But once he got free of the Wiemar authorities he went directly to Kothen, where Prince Leopold hired him as his kapellmeister. Bach remained there, happily writing music for the enlightened tastes of the Prince.
