The Great Composer Quiz – Taking the time to write it yourself.

This Great Composer was a big letter writer. Over 800 pieces of correspondence covering 65 years have been recovered. TAnd they reveal our Great Composer personality quite well. The co-author of his autobiography said, “The man is in the letters.” But two times in his life he had a secretary, once while working on a film, and another time while working in London. The letters he wrote during these times were dictated to the secretary, instead of being written by himself, and these have been assessed as “not particularly trenchant, and lacking the distinctive qualities that came forth when [he] himself sat down to write.” So who was this epistolary man, this Great Composer?
