The Great Composer Quiz – October 8, 2020

Time’s up, pencils down, the Great Composer who landed a teaching job as a result of knowing the school’s founder, that would be Felix Mendelssohn who established the Leipzig Conservatory, but who was of no help to students in the classroom and did himself no good by teacher, as it stripped him of strength and left him emotionally depleted. The answer is Robert Schumann, who must have scored poorly on Rate My Professors because despite being friends with the head of the school he was if not asked to leave at least not openly invited back after only a year inside the ivy-covered walls.
